Description
This beautiful Monarch butterfly, with it's wings folded, was photographed in a butterfly garden in Geneva, Illinois.
Monarchs are dependent on milkweed plants, which larvae eat nearly exclusively.
Monarchs are noted for their mass migrations, bringing millions of butterflies to California and Mexico each winter - a journey up to 3,000 miles!

This is truly an amazing photograph, Joni. I love the colors and I love butterflies. I am sure that you know that when butterflies come around you, it is the Universe telling you that everything will be all right. Smiles, Diane

Thanks so much, Diane. Butterflies are truly one of God's most beautiful and elegant creatures. So many varieties! Being around them cannot help but bring a smile of joy. Thanks for the visit!
