Description
When we traveled to North Carolina in November of 2016, it was just as the fall fires that spanned from Tennessee into North Carolina were starting up. On the day we took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the mountains were not only covered in haze, but smoke as well. The colors were not as spectacular as usual because of the dry summer, but spectacular color or not, the Blue Ridge Parkway is full of layers of beauty.

Great capture of our magnificent mountains. Last year was difficult watching these fires as well as the lost of lives.
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Carol. I have a number of shots from this trip I will eventually upload that show the yellow band of smoke under the clouds and haze. There were so many fires between Tennessee and North Carolina during our trip. We plan on moving to NC in the next few years, and have property near South Mountains State Park. It was difficult for us to see the smoke of the fires while we were there, then seeing the posts from people on social media of the destruction. One of the bridges we walked across when hiking in the South Mountains was hanging, burned and broken. It's such a beautiful part of the country. I look forward to seeing your photos of the area - gives me lots of places I want to see when I have the time to explore!

The tones here are beautiful and reminds me of some of the classic old images found on glass negatives in many days past...real and classic photographic art. Nicely done Joni.

Wonderful B&W landscape photo of the Blueridge Mountains covered in smoke and haze, with great perspective, layering, light and shadows, and a dramatic composition, Joni! F/L

Soft smooth landscape with some wonderful layers which create a lot of depth in to the image.

Love this, beautiful tones.

Thanks Marnie. I love the layers of mountains as far as the eye can see. Glad you enjoyed it!
