We are born totally dependent. Our world is small. We cannot provide for ourselves, but need to trust others to care for us.

This picture was taken during a family photo shoot and the gaze in this photo for this little one's mother brought to my mind the trust of a small child in the ones who make up their entire world.

For me, it also reminds me of how dependent I am upon God for everything that I have, and the scripture in Matthew that says you must become trusting, like a little child, to truly find God.
