A neutral density filter makes possible this dramatic late fall sunrise shot on North Topsail Beach, Topsail Island, North Carolina. Much of the ocean in silhouette, the sun shines brightly above the horizon, filling the sky with bright orange and yellow clouds, and reflects in the waves coming in to shore.

Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.
