On my bucket list was finding a Swallowtail Butterfly in its natural habitat to photograph. On a summer day I took a walk through a local prarie enjoying the day. I came across some lovely coneflowers and then around the corner, this beautiful Yellow Swallowtail came into view. We both thoroughly enjoyed our late afternoon rendezvouz.

Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.
