My husband and I had stopped at the Sunshine Skyway Fishing Pier so I could spend some quality time with the Pelicans. We weren't there more than 10-15 minutes and in typical Florida fashion, a storm started rolling over the water heading our way. I was able to capture this, just before the torrential downpour started.
Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

Awesome image of this approaching storm.
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Carl! I'd like to spend more time in Florida - they have amazing sunsets and cloud formations, not to mention lots of wildlife. Appreciate the visit!
Bruce Peterson
This is spectacular thank you for the picture as I have never seen a storm on the water it astounds me!
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Bruce. So glad you like it. I love storms on the water - well, to see and photograph; probably not so much to be in one! They are a pretty awesome sight. Thanks for the visit!
Jeanette French
great shot of the incoming aquall. I love how you can see through it to the clouds on the other side.
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Jeanette. That sheet of rain didn't take long to reach us! It was worth getting a bit wet for. Glad you enjoyed the shot.

Amazing capture Joni and although I live in UK I know exactly where you were on that pier as I have been there to see the pelicans. Hope you didn't get wet. L/F
Joni Eskridge replied:
Ha! Yes, I did get wet - but not drenched! Those storms move pretty fast! Thanks for your visit and comments Brian.
Paul Krapf

Marvin Spates
This is a great storm photo Joni!! I am always on the look out for a great storm in the Tampa area!! I have gotten a few really good ones lately!! L/F
Joni Eskridge replied:
From the few times I've been in Florida, Marvin, you should have ample opportunity for catching a storm! I loved the clouds in Florida. There's another shot uploaded with this one that was taken just down the road out the car window. The depth of the clouds, the variation in light and dark and the poking out of the blue sky gave me goosebumps! Thanks for the visit and taking time to comment, Marvin. Appreciate it.
Linda Crockett
Amazing capture, Joni, just beautiful! l/f
Joni Eskridge replied:
If I were younger, I might be a storm chaser! Love clouds and storms. So much beauty; so much power - both wonderful and terrifying. Thanks for the visit Linda, and taking time to comment. Appreciate it!
