Now a part of the DuPage County Forest Preserve and managed by Friends of Danada, 19-room Danada House was once the home of Dan and Ada Rice. The old Rice farm now boasts hiking trails, gardens and an equestrian center.
According to the Danada Equestrian Center web site: The equestrian center and most of the surrounding Danada Forest Preserve were part of the Dan and Ada L. Rice estate. The Rices purchased the land in 1928, when it was a working farm with apple orchards, wheat and corn fields, and grazing lots for livestock. In 1943 Dan bought eight Thoroughbreds for his wife’s pursuit in horse racing, and the Ada L. Rice Stable was born, a legacy that would last for 32 years.
The farm produced many champions and served as a training facility. The Rices patterned their 26-stall barn after the white dormered-windowed stables in Lexington, Kentucky. The “Kentucky-style” design, which features center stalls surrounded by an inside aisle, allowed trainers to exercis...

I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

Yeahh...you did it ! Great Joni....! From left to right you are going from close to far...retreating...and from right to left you are getting closer to the horse...did you realize that :)) which would be the best sequence...you can only answer that ;-)) great work Joni...!!

Ha! Thanks Michel. Yes, I did realize the placement was going from closer to farther. I'm not sure yet which I would like better - this or the reverse. The layout I'm using was a template and a little inflexible. It seemed resolute in wanting it to go that way. When I have some more time, I'll figure out how to modify that because I'd like to try it the other way as well. I think my favorite of the three I did was the one with the white horse in the middle; but I like this one too. Thanks for taking a look and giving feedback. Always appreciated!

I went back and created a new template without the placement restrictions and put them in the order I had originally intended. The outside images point in to the close up. I like this better.
