The Tulip Poplar tree was new to me this spring. It is quite abundant in my new home state of North Carolina, but had never crossed my path (to my knowing) during the lifetime spent in northern Illinois. I came across this bud while walking through the woods in early spring. I loved the colors, softess and perfection of this beautiful bud. As spring progressed, I would see how beautiful this bud became; but for now, I was content with this blush of spring I foumd in the woods.
Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.
