Artist's Description
I was fortunate enough to visit Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, when the white magnolia trees were fully loaded with beautiful blossoms at their peak. There were several trees of varying shapes and sizes. I found this one the most pleasing.
Against the beautiful blue sky and puffy white clouds, the dark bark of the tree trunk and branches and the green hue of the spring grass contrast beautifully with the lovely white magnolias and their floppy petals.

Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

Thanks Debra. It was amazing to catch at this point in time as they are so fragile. Usually I get there after the blossoms have started browning and the wind has left petals strewn all about. Some petals on the ground can be pretty, but this was a thrill!
