Description
When you get down on the ground, you see some beautiful things. I'm not sure what this flower is called, but it is just a tiny blossom down low to the ground.
Late afternoon light filtering through the trees makes for some nice shadows on this tiny gem.

This one would make a wonderful get well card, know I'd love to get one like this!!! L/F/P

Not sure if you looked in the greeting card gallery; maybe you already saw them, but I actually did a couple of versions of this picture with get well text. They're a little hokey, but sometimes you just need something to make you groan from something other than feeling bad ( :

Lovely image of a difficult to capture bloom, Joni; it almost looks like a fawn lily ... or ... I'd need to check with Google or my books to know for sure :))) {you might try Google images to see what comes up .. maybe...}
Joni Eskridge replied:
Oh thanks Connie. I so appreciate your comments. I think I found it. I believe it's called a Trout Lily, also referred to as a Dogtooth Violet. They're so tiny, it's amazing they have a name at all!

The greatness of a tiny beauty !! Thanks Joni for adding me to your watchlist ! :-)
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thank you for your visit Michel. I was happy to add you to my watchlist. Thought I had done it long ago, then saw Connie's comments and wondered why your work hadn't shown up in my feed. Now I know and have remedied that! Have a wonderful weekend!

Lovely selective focus, and beautiful soft light, Joni. V/F
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Aaron. Late afternoon is usually a pretty sweet time for that soft light - hoping our temperatures here start moving up so we can start seeing some of these beautiful flowers. Today its 32 degrees at the White Sox opener. So glad I'm not there - I'm watching the squirrels, birds and chipmunks in my back yard through the window of my nice warm house. I'm guessing in your neck of the woods, I get no sympathy for a mere 32 ( :
