Artist's Description
The last time I hiked up the South Mountains falls path, it was early spring and the water was flowing fast. The Upper Falls, a tiny trickle on this day, was a beautiful free fall which you can see elsewhere in my portfolio.
But on this day, as I looked at these rocks which were mostly covered or not here on my last trip, it made me wonder at their haphazard placement. Their placement suggests a free fall from higher up. Were they all here on my last visit, just hiding, or did some of them fall like so many billiard balls making for a new water flow?
The only thing I was sure of was being very grateful I was not around when those rocks moved into place, and instead, could simply enjoy the sounds and sites of a natural wonder!
