These beautiful Peruvian Lilies were given to me for my birthday. I had a great time taking pictures for days, trying different angles, number of flowers, natural light, flash. This is one of my favorites, taken late on a January afternoon with a slow shutter speed on a tripod, near a window.

The vibrant colors look wonderful printed on metal paper or a metal print. A copy of this hangs in my department at work, and brings some beauty and joy to all who walk by!

Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.
