Description
Bright fall colors mix amongst the greens in this short and long-range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Clouds and haze veil the layers of mountains in the background, while fall yellows, reds, oranges and rusts popped on the slopes of the up-close mountains. This area of the Parkway had not yet reached peak, but provided a variety of late summer to mid-fall color enjoyment.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is the most visited National Park, with a roadway of 469 miles stretching from Rockfish Gap in Virginia, to Cherokee, North Carolina, with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and a vast number of hiking trails and quaint towns all along the drive.
