Description
There is light at the end of the Craggy Pinnacle Tunnel on the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina. The Craggy Pinnacle Tunnel is the shortest tunnel on the Blue Ridge Parkway, at 176 feet. When the tunnel was being built, it was decided to tunnel through, rather than build around the mountain (as was done at the Linn Cove Viaduct). Workers used dynamite to blast through the stone, but used elbow grease for everything else.
