Description
There's a bigger lake at Herrick Lake Forest Preserve in Wheaton, Illinois, but then there's this channel that leads the eye to a smaller lake surrounded by trees. On this spring day, with its blue sky and sunny disposition, I was drawn to the calm water and the sunlight dancing off the trees and stones that line entrance to this quiet and peaceful sanctuary.
