Description
When spending time in a local Great Heron Rookery, I had the privilege of observing this pair going through their nest building ritual. Once the building material was brought, and handed over to build the nest, the male first curled, then stretched his neck all the way out as if announcing his proficiency. I observed this behavior in a number of the males in the rookery. Once this behavior was completed, he joined his mate in the nest.

Such a wondrous privilege indeed my dear ♥♥♥ F/L
Joni Eskridge replied:
Yes, it was. I was glad to have had a long enough time to not only witness this behavior, but see it repeated in several nests to realize it was a significant gesture. Thanks so much for your visit, Heather!
