When we traveled to North Carolina in November of 2016, it was just as the fall fires that spanned from Tennessee into North Carolina were starting up. On the day we took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the mountains were not only covered in haze, but smoke as well. The colors were not as spectacular as usual because of the dry summer, but spectacular color or not, the Blue Ridge Parkway is full of layers of beauty.
Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

A misty beauty, Joni ... such a glorious capture ... the fires and haze didn't hurt the magic at all!!! l/f t and p
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Lois. I love the mountain layers and the haze, although I was sad about the fires, added to the mystery of the mountains. The beautiful fall color didn't hurt either. Thanks for visiting.
