One of the first trees to bloom in spring is the Bradford Pear. It smells terrible! But it is beautiful and, I found, is heavily planted around the county I now call home, in western North Carolina. Driving around our rural roads, I passed this sea of white blossoms nestled back on a local farm. For a short few weeks, we enjoyed a veritable forest of blooming Bradford Pear trees!
Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.
