The Cape Henry lighthouse in Virginia Beach seen through the sand and grass at the ocean's edge stands as a strong tower on this beautiful sunny day with blue skies and puffy clouds, and a beacon at night, when the sun is gone and the waves pound the surf.

Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

Thanks so much Skip. Really appreciate your kind words. Took lots of pictures of this and the old Cape Henry lighthouse that day. This is definitely one of my favorites - walking around looking for something different about a lighthouse that's been shot by everyone who's ever walked through Fort Story. The day kept changing as well. Blue skies and puffy clouds one minute; dark clouds and threatening rain the next. It was a great day to be out shooting.
