This cornfield we passed on our Saturday afternoon drive is surrounded by wooded land, but in the cornfield, you can see the patterns of the fall harvest lightly apparent in the afternoon sun and shadows
A favorite subject for me, one lonely tree stands alone, surrounded by the close-cut cornstalks.

Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

That's a great tree, Joni! & I think this is a splendid capture! The tones are retro lovely, warm & nostalgic. The tree is a hero {or heroine} ... stalwart, with great fortitude, alone ... in the corn field :))
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks so much, Connie! I love this tree. My husband and I would drive by it every weekend and I really wanted to get a shot, but it had to be from a good angle. One day everything aligned with time of day, having camera and time to walk around a bit to get the best angle. I would love it to be a little more by itself without the tree line in back, but I loved the shadows and light of the day and time, so it was all good : ) Thanks for taking the time to enjoy it with me!
