Description
Walking down a grassy path at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, Illinois on a sunny, unseasonably warm day in early spring, I caught this snake out of the corner of my eye just a couple feet away enjoying the sun.

Sweet shot ! I love the short depth of field; giving the background a smooth tapestry, ( the colors are great). With blurred background, my eye goes right to the subject. Awesome photo.

Not big on snakes but this is a great image, love the details. Very nice!
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Julie. I don't go out seeking snakes either - but when one presents you with the opportunity and they're not going anywhere, you just have to take the shot!

Thanks Bill. I think he was as happy as I was for 70 degrees and sunny in early spring. Not typical of Illinois.

Spectacular find and lovely capture!Beautiful!
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Chrisy. I've gotten a few ewwws from my city friends, but I thoroughly enjoyed the encounter and was also enjoying a lovely hike in the woods on an uncommonly warm and wonderful early spring morning with gorgeous light. Couldn't ask for better.
