Hiking at Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois one spring afternoon, I spotted this Red-winged Blackbird, who reminded me of Edward Scissorhands as I spied his talons gripping the tall marsh grasses.

Thanks Michel! We have a lot of marsh land around here, so they're pretty plentiful. It amazes me that they can hang on those tall grasses as they're no small bird. I love their talons. They just started their nesting season a few weeks ago, so they're back in the marshes where they have their nests, and I have many of them visiting my back yard every day. Adrenalin was a fun choice for Maggie's picture!

Thanks Carla! I guess it helps they're so ubiquitous I our area, but it does take patience to get the full ruffle or the grand singing!
